Visit Morocco: Jnane Tamsna

Described as a "serene oasis for the smart & cool", Jnane Tamsna remains my favourite destination in Marrakech. The boutique hotel located about 15 minutes from the centre of Marrakech combines art, gardening, architecture and design to create a beautiful experience for visitors. The hotel integrates 5 houses, 5 pools and a tennis court to create a 5 star boutique hotel that offers 24 individual rooms, private villa rentals and full exclusivity for events. Guest activities include dining, swimming, tennis, camel riding and a host of other activities. Jnane Tamsna also happens to be the only black female owned boutique hotel in Morocco.

Wokie and I had the pleasure of spending two afternoons at Jnane Tamsna to celebrate her birthday. Our experience included brunch, swimming in the heated pools, and unlimited access to the eight-acre grounds. We also had the pleasure of meeting Meryanne Loum-Martin, the owner of Jnane Tamsna.

Our experience at Jnane Tamsna exceeded our expectations. Note only were the meals the best I have ever had in Morocco, the grounds and its facilities were beautiful.

We are very grateful to Meryanne Loum-Martin for her hospitality and for welcoming us to her home.

Guests are given the option of having a 3 course lunch indoors, by the pool, or in the expansive garden.

Meals at Jnane Tamsna draw on Morocco’s rich culinary heritage, and are inspired by modern Mediterranean cuisine.
