Conception: Mode Observer for Madam Wokie

Updated: Jun 4, 2018

Good news everyone...

Over the Easter break I had the pleasure of visiting Nairobi, Kenya, my new favourite country in Africa (apart from Sierra Leone of course). Prior to my visit, my sister Mary-Ann and I collaborated on a capsule collection for her brand, Madam Wokie. The collaboration resulted in the birth of my new project, MODE by Musu Kaikai, a collection of beautiful, affordable, ready-to-wear pieces for women of all ages.

Fast forward a few days, I was in Nairobi surrounded by the most amazing Kenyan accessories and crafts. Necklaces, hats, bracelets, bags, sandals, paintings, you name it, Kenyans produce it. The attention to detail Kenyan artisans put into their work blew me away and gave me quite a lot of inspiration for my online store. My online store will retail affordable pieces from my travels, including Sierra Leone. It will also include items not readily available in UK.

On my return to London I collaborated with my favourite photographer, Harith Wilson, and my new favourite model, Chansa Migiro, to shoot a lookbook for my first collection of accessories from Kenya.

In preparation for the launch of the online store, I also did an editorial for the website. Chainsa was an absolute dream to work with and as always, Harith delivered beyond my expectations.

Thank you Harith and Chansa for bringing my ideas to life.
